Stormy weather...

Just got back from seeing The Day After Tomorrow. In case you haven't caught a preview for it, this is one of those "Through humanity's environmental ignorance/stupidity, we have completely fucked up the entire planet" kinda movies. The special effects were fairly impressive. However, the movie was VERY politically heavy-handed. The only way for it to be more heavy-handed would be for the director/writer/producer/whatever to stand outside the theater with a big-ass metal shovel with "Save the Earth" written on it, beating the shite out of everybody as they leave.
However, if you can get past the political side of it (I was prepared going in), it's a decent enough movie.

It's that time again.

That's right. It's time for another election!

I won't go into the importance of getting up off your ass and voting. You know you're lucky to have that responsibility.

However, I will offer up a suggestion on how you can choose WHO gets your vote. Go with the person who displays the smallest amount of advertising fecal matter on the sides of the roads. You know what I mean... Those little signs that they tend to set up in small clusters of say, a thousand at a time.

That's my politico rant for the day. :-)

Also, went and saw Troy on Saturday. Brilliant piece of art? No. Best movie I've ever seen? No. Good movie that I enjoyed going to and DON'T feel like I wasted my money on? Yup.
Of course, the fact that there are SEVERAL hot guys in it in various states of undress (including a nekkid Brad Pitt) sure didn't hurt matters!

Tonight we had a gathering at Render's house. A bunch of us got together to watch the series finale of Frasier, and more importantly, have a final send-off for Lorna.
This Saturday she leaves for Nova Scotia.

She's still in Edmonton.
I'm going to see her for a bit tomorrow night.
But, still...
I miss her already.

I think I need another cry.

Where'd the week go?

I just got home about 10 min ago (1230pm). I think this is the earliest that I've made it home since Wednesday. It's been a busy, exhausting, but absolutely wonderful week.

Tuesday: Went to the gym with Jazzy and Dae. I'm in all likelyhood going to get a monthly membership.
Wednesday: Worked during the day. That evening, I went to Boston Pizza for a friend's going away party. A sweet friend (Lorna) is moving to Nova Scotia to be with her fiance. While I am sad that she's leaving, I am very happy for her.
Thursday: Went to Renderman's place for a fondu. We did the cheese and hot oil thing for the main course, and chocolate for dinner. Include some wine, and some great people, and that makes for a wonderful evening.
Friday: Spent the evening with some friends again. This time, a couple of them were hosting a sex toy party. Muchly fun. Bought some various massage-related items (book on erotic massage, a couple of hard plastic massagers, a rubber foot massager, a battery-powered massager, and a small wood chest that I can use to store some of my more... interesting tools/toys in). Yeah, I'm a total massage queen. :-)
Saturday: Worked during the day. Went to Renderman's place for a bbq after work. Hung out with some fun people. After that, we split into two groups. One went to karaoke. The rest of us (myself included) went out for bubble tea.
Karaoke: (n) From the Latin root word 'Karaokkus', meaning "tone deaf and I don't goddamn know it" ;-)

Anyways, I have work tomorrow. Bed time!

Summer plans

Well, they're set. I'm going to be in the Greater Vancouver Area from July 28 to August 7.

And I won't be alone.

My friend Rini will be joining me.

This trip is going to fucking rock!
